Christina reads the Help Wanted
ads;
She desperately needs a job.
There’s an ad for a waitress, a dancer, a factory worker;
She drops her head to sob.
Christina places a call to a faceless recruiter;
He’s smooth-talking on the phone.
He promises her a job as a model or a star;
It’s so far away from home.
Christina accepts the recruiter's offer,
and soon is taken far away.
She's now living a life alone in the darkness;
She's now a modern-day slave.
SHE CRIES FOR FREEDOM;
SHE CRIES FOR HELP.
SHE CRIES HERSELF TO SLEEP.
SHE CRIES FOR COMFORT;
SHE CRIES FOR HOME;
SHE CRIES FOR HER SOUL TO KEEP.
SHE CRIES IN THE DARKNESS;
WISHING FOR LIGHT.
SHE'S SO ALONE . . .
HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT.
It’s a sea of pain;
No one remembers your name.
Another trail of tears.
A child’s drowning in fears.
Innocence lost
In this holocaust.
Human lives are being tossed
In the fires of this holocaust.
SHE CRIES FOR FREEDOM;
SHE CRIES FOR HELP.
SHE CRIES HERSELF TO SLEEP.
SHE CRIES FOR COMFORT;
SHE CRIES FOR HOME;
SHE CRIES FOR HER SOUL TO KEEP.
SHE CRIES IN THE DARKNESS;
WISHING FOR LIGHT.
SHE'S SO ALONE . . .
HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT.
